Rockwell West Room 211 Conference Room Technology Guide (12.25 Workaround)

Rockwell West 211 is a conference room which seats approximately 16 people. This room is equipped with a large projector display, a tabletop BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) X-Cable, and a 360° USB Owl camera.


This room is intended for use by CSU staff and faculty.

Connecting to a Teams meeting

Joining a Teams meeting


1. Connect your device to the cable on the tabletop. The screen should start sharing on the projector automatically.


2. Connect your device to the USB cable located near the X-Cable. This will connect your device to the tabletop  360° USB Owl camera and microphone.

Connecting with a wired connection


1. Connect your device to the cable on the tabletop. The screen should start sharing automatically.

The cable has the following connection options: HDMI, DisplayPort, Mini DisplayPort, and USB Type C.


Switching between duplicate and extended display


Windows:

1. Press  + P

2. Select Duplicate or Extend


Mac:

1. Open Settings

2. On left side bar click Displays

3. Select the drop down to choose between Extended display or Mirror


Booking the room

1. Invite COB Conference Room 211W as an attendee to your Teams meeting. Note that this invitation will have to be approved and must not conflict with any prior room bookings in order for the room to officially be booked.


Connecting to guest WiFi

1. For guest WiFi, connect to the csu-visitor network and follow on-screen instructions. CSU students and employees should use csu-net. Please visit the Wireless information page for more details.


Frequently asked questions

I am experiencing feedback on a hybrid call


1. This can often occur if multiple participants are connected to a call with their microphones turned on. To eliminate feedback, make sure that only one participant who is physically located in the room has their microphone on 


The projector screen is going up without me doing anything


1. In order to conserve energy, the projector is programmed to turn off and the screen return to the up position after 10 minutes of inactivity. To turn back on connect your device to the cable.


How can I get a remote clicker to advance my PowerPoint slides?


1. Please visit the IT Help Desk in Rockwell Hall 37 (located in the basement on the south side of the building) and ask to check out a remote clicker. This clicker can plug into an available USB port on your device.
